A bookshelf supported by three vertical charred ash planks. Do things that are burnt always turn to ashes and leave nothing behind? Not necessarily. Wood that has undergone the Shou Sugi Ban charring process becomes more durable under the protection of the carbon layer, making it resistant to moisture and insects, significantly extending its lifespan. The charred wood supports the pristine, pure white shelves, which serves as a design language and a symbol we wish to convey: what remains after burning becomes the support for life, driving us to pursue what is worthwhile.
